7 habits of highly effective people - what are the key points of this theory?

  • Leaders need to understand themselves to be able to relate to others.
  • Focus on how effective we are at managing ourselves & our relationships with others.
  • 2 key beliefs:
    1. Behaviour - can be learned. Power to change.
    2. Habits - reflection of our principles and values.

To be effective we need to be true to our ‘character ethic’.

In contrast to our ‘personality ethic’ which is our public image, which has taken over but is superficial.
