Door System Flashcards
What is special about the P2006T’s doors?
The doors are automatically locked when the engines are running to prevent injury
How many doors/exits are on the P2006T?
- One on the front left (crew), one on the rear right (passengers), and a latch on the roof for ditching
How does the automatic door lock mechanism work?
Electro-mechanically. A pressure switch senses engine oil pressure and allows for electrical supply to a solenoid which engages the door lock mechanism.
When does the front door lock mechanism engage?
When the left engine is running
Can the door lock mechanism be turned off?
Yes. Can be manually by-passed operating either from the door inside panel or from outside (placards show how on the aircraft).
Are there any alerts when this bypass is operated?
Any voluntary operation of the manual by-pass solenoid lock causes related door
warning light is turned on.
When will the door lock mechanism disengage?
- After engine shutdown
- After a complete loss of electric power
When may the doors not automatically unlock?
After engine shut-down, the pressure drop can have a certain delay, preventing the
door from being opened by normal means: do not force the handle but operate the
override system above mentioned.
What two switches do the doors use?
Two switches activated when the door and latch are closed respectively.
What happens when BOTH front door switches are not engaged?
the MAIN DOOR OPEN warning light is turned ON.
Is the rear door fitted with the same device? What are the differences?
Yes. The rear door mechanism engages when the RIGHT engine is running. If both switches are not engaged the REAR DOOR
OPEN warning light is turned ON.
How is the emergency hatch opened?
The yellow fluorescent painted handle, which can be operated also from outside,
is fitted with a safety wire assuring removal effortlessness
Does the P2006T have a baggage compartment?
Yes, behind the passenger’s seats
What are the baggage compartment limitations
Do not exceed 176 Lbs, keep bags uniformly distributed on the ground and secure before flight
