What percentage of animal bite wounds are due to cats?
10%, 80-90% are due to dogs.

Children, usually less than 12 years old.

Who is the second most likely group of people to get bit?
the elderly.
Bites to kids are the #1 concern in public health with kids.

Pasteurella
What is the profile of a biting dog?
Literally any dog can bite. Big dog bites are usually more severe (duh), and unneutered male dogs cause 70-76% of reported dog bites. Dogs are usually less than 1 year old.
Is there a specific breed that is more likely to bite than others?
No. Any dog can bite, any breed can bite. BSL is dumb.
80% of cat bites occur where?
upper extremities.
How likely is a cat bite to become infected?
Very. 80% of cat bites become infected.
Who is more likely to get injured in the veterinary world?
New vets, vets working more than 60hrs/week, vets not sleeping enough.
