Q

Describe the steps of DNA replication

A
  1. Enzyme DNA helicase breaks down the hydrogen bonds between bases and form 2 single strands so DNA strands can act as templates
  2. DNA nucleotides match up by complementary base pairing; adenine and thymine, cytosine and guanine
  3. DNA polymerase joins adjacent DNA nucleotides and forms a phosphodiester bond
  4. Each DNA molecule now has one original strand and one newly synthesised strand
