- Yes. Everyone has an unconscious bias.
- They are attitudes formed from our experiences, during upbringing/education.

What is bias?
A
- A bias is a prejudice, inclination or tendency toward or against someone or something. It is learned over time and can be hard to change without awareness. (i.e. conscious bias, explicit bias)

How does unconscious bias impact a surveyor’s work?
A
- Recruitment – hiring what is ‘familiar’
- **Corporate benefits **- e.g. assuming all women will have children
- **Business leadership **– if senior leaders look and sound the same, it can be difficult for less dominant groups to be heard.
