The rate at which chemical reactions that provide your bodies energy happen at.

The reactions in the body that make energy.
What are the factors in Resting Metabolic Rate?
- Muscle to fat ratio
- How large you are in size
- Men usually have a slightly higher metabolism
- Regular Exercise
- Genetic Factors
What is Malnourishment?
A diet that is out of balance
What is obesity defined as?
20% or more over the maximum recommended Body Mass
What are some health problems caused by Obesity?
Arthritis
Type 2 Diabetes
High Blood Pressure
Heart disease
What can too much saturated fat cause?
A high cholesterol level
What can too much salt cause?
High blood pressure and Heart problems
What are some of the effects of not eating enough?
- Slow growth in children
- Fatigue
- Poor immune systems
