Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
A
Automatically assigns unique lP addresses to devices on network for a period of time.
Saving time, reduce risk of conflicts.
But after the duration is over, the client has to re-lease or obtain new IP address.
Operates on Client Server model.
Used in small home networks, large enterprise networks.

A
Static IP address:
Assigning specific IP address to each device is done manually.
Time consuming, additional devices need manual updates lP addressing scheme.
