how does the self fulfilling prophecy/labelling link to developmental?
A
- lower social classes more likely to be negatively labelled
- if parents are negatively labelled it could cause the kids to receive the same label
- can either resist or accept the label
- self beliefs/ self esteem may impact on your decision making

- develops when you are born
- seeks maximum pleasure for minimum pain and operates on the pleasure principle
- if not controlled it could lead to violent outbursts

- in the kung san, aggressive behaviours are very rare in the society e.g. the parents dont use physical punishment and so no value is placed on aggression

- can cause lower intelligence and some learning difficulties
- behavioural problems and emotional difficulties
- if they house features of XYY syndrome then they may be labelled as murderers (SFP)

- only care about short term gain not long term consequences so more likely to commit crime
