nature/nurture debate
the extent to which our development is
affected by what we inherit vs environmental influences.
twin studies
can be identical or fraternal. Sandra Scarr (1992) - heredity played a role in determining degree of introversion and extroversion. Played a bigger role in determining
intelligence, issue is that environments are very similar.
adoption studies
see whether adopted children are more like their
adopted or biological parents. Generally show that both heredity +
environment are both important.

Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, developing their physical strength, allows for healthy brain development, improves their ability to communicate too.
