Helps with social development, perceptual and cognitive development, and physical development

critical for depth perception and helps child localize objects relative to external landmarks
What are three main things that help a child remember an activity?
If there is a clear outcome of the activity, there is a logical sequence (cause and effect are obvious), and they helped create the activity
What is an important thing children need in order to recall what they did?
REPETITION! need to demonstrate what they learned to better remember it
What is the term for repetitive gross motor activities without any obvious purpose?
peragation
At what age does exercise play start and what is its purpose?
12 months, helps with strength and endurance, learn social rules, and a break from school
What role does rough and tumble play have?
establish/maintain dominance in social groups (males) and helps code-decode social skills (what is appropriate vs what isnt, so a child who does not have this practice can either be too aggressive or too timid)
