Q

Mean AO3:

A
  • Most accurate and sensitive as it uses all values
  • Can be affected by extreme sores because it takes them all into account

Q

Median AO3:

A
  • Easy to calculate
  • Not as sensitive as the mean, only uses one score
  • Not influenced by freak scores

Mode AO3

A
  • Easy to calculate
  • Less prone to free scores than the mean
  • Doesn’t take all scores into account

11
Q

What is standard deviation?

A

Measures the spread of data around the mean. The higher the SD, the more data spread from the mean so less consistent and more individual differences. The lower the SD, the data is more clustered so more consistency and less individual differences.

Q

What does the mean tell us?

A

Provides a good indication of the average score, generally the higher the mean the greater the score/ effect

16
Q

What does standard deviation tell us?

A

High standard deviation means scores are more spread out so more variation/ individual differences (opposite for low SD)

17
Q

What is a positive correlation?

A

As the variable increases, the other variable increases

18
Q

What is a negative correlation?

A

As one variable increases, the other decreases

19
Q

What does zero correlation mean?

A

Occurs when no relationship is found between variables

20
Q

What is a correlation?

A

They measure the association relationship is between 2 or more variables (known as co-variables one and two)
