Dermatoscope Flashcards
Name eight dermatoscopic findings in melanoma.
- atypical pigmented network and agulated lines 2.Negative network globular structures surrounded by hypopigmentation. 3.Atypical dots and globules 4.Irregular streaks 5.Blue White veil 6. Polymorphous vessels with milky red areas 7.Atypical peripheral blotch 8. Shiny white lines in polarized light.
What do shiny white lines under polarized light represent dermatoscopically?
Invasion. May be seen in melanoma, Nevus or Spitz nevus.
Glomerular vessels are found in 90% of these lesions along with brown and white scales
Bowens disease
what is this lesion
Bowen’s disease
What is this tumor and what is the feature we identify
Bowen’s Disease with cotton candy keratosis
Brown dots arranged in lines is a feature of what?
pigmented Bowen’s disease
What is this?
angiokeratoma Dark lacunae with blue white veil
What are 3 ways to tell apart a reticulated seb ker from a nevus
The pigmented network lines are sharp the hole are bigger in the network and there is abrupt endings at edges of the reticulated seb ker.
What is this?
solar lentigo displaying circles
What features help in identifying this lesion?
irritated seb ker white color surrounding vessels
What are some features of BCC under dermatoscopic exam?
Blue Gray ovid nests and globules
Arborizing vessels
Spoke wheel areas
Maple leaf like areas
blue gray dots
Crystalline structures
What are features of SCC under dermatoscope
White circles which are plugs
milkly red areas
varying thickness of scale
glomerular vessels are associated with what condition
Bowen’s disease
Comma vessels are associated with what
mostly dermal nevi
Hairpin looped vessels are associated with what?
Seb Kers, SCC, periphery of BCC
