Moisturizers and petrolatum

Variant of Atopic Dermatitis
Hypopigmentation in darker skinned

Type 4 HSR

What is the Tx of Allergic Contact Dermatitis?
Topical Steroids, oral H1 blockers
What are urticaria?
Hives. Vascualr rxn of the skin char by wheals surrounded by a red halo/flare ITCHY
What is Angioedema?
Same mechanism as Urticaria, but deeper. Doesn’t itch. Most common on face extremity. WILL blanch w/pressure
What is Dermatographism?
Sharply localized edema or wheal sec/min after skin is rubbed
What is the Path of immuno Urticaria?
Antigen binds to IgE on mast cell surface => degranulation
What is the Path of non- immuno Urticaria?
Not IgE dependent
What meds can cause Urticaria?
Penicillins (IgE mediated)
Aspirin
What is the tx of Anaphylaxis?
Epinephrine, IV Fluids and O2
