Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder
Severe recurrent temper outbursts manifested verbally and/or behaviorally that are grossly out of proportion in intensity or duration to the situation or provocation and are inconsistent with developmental level. Mood between outbursts is persistently irritable or angry most of the day nearly everyday. Symptoms have been present for 12 or months lasting 3 or more consecutive months. Diagnosis must be made within the ages of 6 and 18.
Major Depressive Disorder
Symptoms have been present during the same 2 week period and represent a change from previous functioning with the presence of either depressed mood or loss of interest or pleasure. Causes clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational or other important areas of functioning.
Persistant Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia)
Presence of depressive symptoms for more than 2 months at a time, for a 2 year period. Criteria for manic or hypomanic episode or cyclothymic disorder have never been met.
