F > M, usually occurs on upper dentures.

- Explain that their gums need time to recover overnight so the denture needs to be taken out.
- liken it to sleeping in your shoes. - Dentures should be cleaned thoroughly with a soft bristled brush and socked for 15 mins twice a day in chlorhexidine solution.

Systemic antifungals should only be prescribed when the condition doesn’t resolve with topical antifungals.
