delusional parasitosis. somatic delusion in which the patient believes that they have a parasitic infection.
erotomania
believes that a high-powered stranger, usually a celebrity is in love with them. usually occurs during psychosis in schizophrenia patients. patient believes that a secrete admirer is sending them telepathic messages of love through the media.. stalking during erotomania is delusional, not secondary gain.
what is the neurobiology and treatment of delusions?
these are psychotic symptoms much like schizophrenia. we assume that it is hyperdopaminergic limbic activity. antipsychotics have limited use. psychotherapy is usually the only treatment.
