RWR AN/APR-52
Antenna Sub-Assemblies (AS) Job

A

-Convert millimeter wave band (K) RF signals to microwave band.
-Act as a pass through for incoming microwave signals (E/J) RF band signals

23
Q

PTO -1
Radar Warning Receiver
Receiver Processor (R/P) Job
(5)

A
  1. Processes detected RF signals sent from the antenna sub-assemblies
  2. Compares the signal against the threat library contained in the MDL (Mission Data Load)
  3. Sends an audible warning via ICS
  4. Sends a visual warning via AMC
  5. Analyzes RF transmission signals against the IBU blanking signals
24
Q

PTO -1
RWR Antenna Assemblies (AA) Job

A

(Two rod shaped millimeter wave antennas) Covers band K
(One microwave antenna) Covers E/J

25
Q

PTO -1
RWR Blade Antenna Job

A

Direction Finding Antenna
Picks up C/D band frequencies

26
Q

PTO -1
RWR AN/APR-52 Operation
Who does the receiver processor receive direction from to download the threat library from the MDL?

A

AMC

27
Q

PTO -1
AN/APR-52
Who do the antenna assemblies route their incoming K and E through J RF transmission bands to?

A

Antenna Sub-Assemblies

28
Q

PTO -1
AN/APR-52
Who do the antenna sub-assemblies convert K and E through J band for?

A

Receiver Processor

29
Q

PTO -1
AN/APR-52
Who does the blade antenna send C-D RF transmission to?

A

Receiver Processor

30
Q

PTO -1
IBU Flow

A

EO/IR LSRF is engaged, a blanking request from the AMC is sent to the IBU, which then sends the blanking command to the LDS or RWR.

31
Q

PTO -1
CMDS Sequencer Job

A

Monitors and controls expendables based on the data received from the CMWS.

32
Q

PTO -1

How to update FMS screen?

A

from AUTO
BYPASS–AUTO

33
Q

PTO -1
How long does the CMDS/CMWS system need to update FMS screen inventories?

A

When the cabin dispense switch is pressed, where is it sending the flare dispense command to?

A

CMWS ECU

41
Q

PTO -1
What does the JETTISON switch manual dispense?

A

All flares

42
Q

PTO -1
CHAFF LOW Advisory

A

43
Q

PTO -1
FLARE LOW Advisory

A

Flare inventory is below nine

44
Q

PTO - 1
What does BYPASS MODE in the CMDS/CMWS Operation do?

A

Bypasses CMWS ECU. The sequencers ignore any commands from the CMWS ECU and independently monitor the cyclic countermeasures mode switch and cabin switches for commands.
Dispensing is now controlled by the programs that were uploaded to the sequencers from the UDM/RDM by the CMWS ECU during systems initialization. (Defaults)
Used in the event of a system failure.
