A

Could prevent proper APU operation and loss of fire fighting capabilities on the No 1 engine and APU in addition to reducing battery only time.

30
Q

PTO -1
NOTE About applying AC power

A

Applying APU GEN or external power more than 60 seconds after turning the batteries on may result in a MX NO COMM fault on the DTS.

31
Q

PTO -1
NOTE Regarding APU startup

A

During the first 4 seconds of an APU start the APU fire T-handle and master warning panel FIRE lights may momentarily illuminate and extinguish. This is not a positive indication of an APU fire.

32
Q

PTO -1
WARNING Associated with stabilator and AC power

A

It will move to full trailing edge down when AC power is applied. Ensure the stab is clear before turning AC power on.

33
Q

A

Is the APU clear? (APU is clear!)
Switch is on
Accum Low (advisory)
APU is on (advisory lower left, and cold capsule light)

34
Q

PTO -1
Besides the Q validation code of 25 +/- 3, how can we verify the EDECU codes?

A

FMS status screen (STS FFK)
Air Vehicle
DEC-1 and DEC-2 SK
NP DEMAND CHANNEL is displayed as a fault

35
Q

PTO -1
NOTE When will NP DEMAND CHANNEL faults clear?

A

Both faults will clear for both EDECUS once either engine is started.

36
Q

PTO -1
WARNING Associated with IR laser diode

A

It is harmful to the human eye if viewed at less than 5.3 ft for more than 10 seconds.

37
Q

PTO -1
What do we have to wait for before pressing the FCC failure reset switches?
What will happen if we don’t?

A

EGI 1 and EGI 2 have to reach align phase or subsequent. May result in degraded FPS functionality without any failure indications.

38
Q

PTO -1
CAUTION During the flight controls hydraulic systems check, what is happening if the PRI SERVO 1/2 FAIL cautio illuminates during collective full up to full down movement?

A

A servo bypass valve may be jammed.

39
Q

PTO -1
CAUTION With manually slewing the stabilator

A

It should be bumped until limit switch stops stabilator movement when approaching either extreme of the stabilator to prevent airframe damage.

40
Q

PTO -1
CAUTION With conducting the blade deice test multiple times
What component is this caution protecting?

A

It shall not be done more than 1 time within a 30-minute period when rotor head is not turning. (to prevent overheating of droop stops)

41
Q

PTO -1
WARNING With droop stops

A

They are made of beryllium copper. If ingestion or excessive skin contact occurs, seek medical attention.

42
Q

PTO -1
CAUTION with the range of targets for LRF

A

Do not fire the LRF at targets less than 50 m away.

43
Q

PTO -1
WARNING with the laser illuminator

A

It’s hazardous to the human eye at distances less than 444m.
Use is not suitable around friendly forces without eye protection.
If someone is using magnification devices (binoculars, scopes) hazardous distance is less than 2540m.

44
Q

PTO -1
WARNING With weather radar

A

It generates microwave radiation within 270 degrees forward sector of the nose to a minimum distance of 25.7. Make sure people, reflecting surfaces and flammable objects aren’t around.

45
Q

PTO -1
WARNING with weather radar use on the ground

A

Make sure the antenna is fully tilted upwards and no large metallic objects are within 100’.

46
Q

PTO -1
What is the allowable difference between the altimeter readings and field elevation?

A

+/- 70’ (it can’t exceed that)

47
Q

PTO -1
What can the digital altitude read out be?

A

0 to 3’

48
Q

PTO -1
When does the blade alignment matter for starting engines?

A

Rotor brake starts only

49
Q

PTO -1
WARNING with blade alignment and rotor brake starts

A

They will be +/- 20 degrees with aircraft centerline.

50
Q

PTO -1
What do you do if, during a rotor brake start, inadvertent rotor blade movement occurs?

A

WARNING
Immediately shut down the engine (s) or release rotor brake.

51
Q

PTO -1
Minimum and Maximum rotor brake psi for starting

A

450-690

52
Q

PTO -1
During startup without engine operating a Red X is NOT displayed on one or more of the cabin EICAS displays for the engine, what does this mean?
What can you do to fix it?

A

It’s an AMC initialization anomaly. An IBIT should be initiated on the AMC prior to engine start to restore the red X on the cabin EICAS displays. (does not affect cockpit)

53
Q

PTO -1
What indications will we not get with a rotor brake start?

A

Q, NP, NR.
MAIN XMSN PRESS caution remains
