Day 1 Safety And Power Up Checklist Flashcards
When is the safety and power up checklist accomplished?
First flight of the day or when a power down was required.
Does the power up checklist need to be done if the aircraft was already powered up?
No, but you need to verify compliance and perform the Fire extinguisher panel check
While doing the checklist, how long does a IESS take to initialize? can you move the aircraft while initializing?
90 seconds. No
What must the battery voltage read upon turning the battery on? what’s the battery limit before calling maintenance? What if it’s in between?
At least 22.5 volts. 21 Volts. you can follow the SOPM to charge the battery prior to takeoff.
What must be done prior to performing the FIRE EXTINGUISHER PANEL test?
check to see that there’s no fire protection fail messages displayed on the EICAS after power up. (takes a few seconds)
During the FIRE PROTECTION PANEL TEST, what are the items you are looking for?
8 lights, 7 messages, 2 aural warnings. LIGHTS: 2 red handles APU aft cargo fwd cargo APU emergency stop WARNING lights x2 EICAS: ENGINE 1 ENGINE 2 AFT CARGO FWD CARGO APU ITT 1 READ FIRE ITT 2 READ FIRE AURAL: FIRE....FIRE...FIRE *ALARM
When establishing power for the first time, what must be done to let other know that the aircraft is receiving AC power?
Turn on the NAV lights
How do you check the slats agreement with the surface position?
look out the window since during start up you only have DC power (battery) and slats require AC. (thus, EICAS won’t show slat position with just the battery running)
