Can you tell me three principles of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018?
“7 principles:
- Data to be processed lawfully, fairly and in transparent manner
2.Collected for legitimate purposes and not further processed
- Relevant and limited to purposes collected
- Accurate and kept up to date – any incorrect data should be erased
- Kept in form which permits identification for period of time that it is necessary (Storage limitation)
- Processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of data, using appropriate technical or organizational measures (Security)
- Accountability”
How do you comply with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 in your role?
“Set out in our Terms of Engagement the clients rights and process if they wish to raise a complaint on how we arne:

- Reason for collecting data

What do the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 apply to?
It is a law in the UK governing electronic marketing such as email or telephone. Companies must ensure that they have the customer’s consent to electronically market to them by phone, fax or email.

What is the Freedom of Information Act 200?
“It gives people the right of access to information held by public bodies
The public body must tell any individual requesting sight of information whether it holds it
Normally the public body is required to supply it in 20 working days in the format requested.
It can change for the provision of the information. “
Can you tell me about the retention of files and the Limitation Act 1980?
Section 5 of the Limitation Act 1980 states that legal action must be brought within six years of the issue arising. Businesses, then, have a responsibility to keep these documents for at least six years after they expire so they can refer to them if there’s a disagreement.

I regularly extract information from Land Registry, this is to find ownership information, leases and title boundaries.
What are the limitations of primary/secondary data sources?
The disadvantage of primary data is the cost and time spent on data collection while secondary data may be outdated or irrelevant.

What is the difference between a deed and a registered title?
A title is a concept which grants ownership rights to a property owner, while the deed is the legal document stating the rights of ownership.
