What is the remains or contents that are to be removed from a structure or other area because of damage or destruction as a result of a fire.
Fire Debris.
Can debris be placed on private property (e.g. Lawns, rear yards) to be collected by the streets department?
No. Every effort should be made to place debris where trash is normally picked up. The streets department will only remove trash from this location.
What should try to do when they are required to enter adjoining properties to check for extension?
They will make every reasonable effort to restore the properties to their original state.
Who does the company officer notify when there is a need for fire debris removal?
Notify the Fire Dispatcher via the fire phone upon return to the station and only for fire debris which has been removed to a public sidewalk, street or driveway.
What does FCC do when notified of the need for debris removal?
The FCC will maintain a form for a 24 Hr period (0001-2400) each day. The info will be listed on this form.
If the fire is not being investigated by the FMO, what does the FCC do to notify the streets department?
From 0800-1600 Monday to Friday, FCC will make an entry on the form and notify the sanitation program coordinator.
For all other times, the FCC will make an entry and notify sanitation at 0800 on the next working day.
Who will FCC notify of all complaints regarding fire debris removal?
FMO.
What does FCC do with the Fire Debris Removal form?
It will be prepared daily, in duplicate, the original will be kept on file at FCC and the copy will be forwarded at 0800 hrs to STREETS DEPT each working day.
Who notifies FCC if the fire is under investigation by the FMO?
The assistant Fire Marshal will notify FCC by cell phone or radio requesting debris be removed.
