- Neonatal enteritis characterized by destruction of the villi of SI epithelium
- widespread disease of piglets aged 8-15 days

- Oocyst: 17-22 x 16-19 μm

Cystoisosporosis of dogs and cats characteristics:
- rarely PH – rodents
- sporogony – exogenous
- merogony, gamogony – epithelial cells of SI
- Per Oral infection
- resistant oocyst – more than 1 year
- anorexia, apathy, diarrhoea containing mucus and blood, death
Cystoisospora
a – Immature oocysts containing one sporoblast
b – Immature oocysts containing two sporoblasts
c – Mature oocysts containing two sporocysts, each with four club-shaped sporozoites. Sporozoites contained rounded retractile vacuoles (arrow).
d-f – Sporozoites containing sporocyst residuum, which was composed of numerous small granules (d and e) or a rounded granule (f).
