Q

1192 Why SENRI is expensive?

A

a) If you compare the service for only tracking, it’s just matter of lineup of functions.
b) We have dedicated engineer team for SENRI and we updates our mobile app every month and web app every week while some competitor will not update app frequently
c) We have local customer success team who can do onsite training, meeting while some international services do not.

Q

1241 How can we solve the import error with Invalid byte sequence in UTF-8?

A

If you receive the error message Invalid byte sequence in UTF-8, this means that the file contains an invalid character code. Please try the following to solve the problem.

  1. Remove the line the error mentions from the file and try importing again.
  2. Check the line the error mentions and change the special character.
As this is a garbled text problem, there must be an invalid character in the line. Remove it and retype it
  3. Copy and paste the contents of the file into Google Spreadsheet
Copy and paste to Google Spreadsheet and export as CSV from Google Spreadsheet. Google Spreadsheet may be able to resolve garbled text into valid text.

1242 Note: How to manage decimal and thousands separators on excel

A

This is settings as of Jan 2023. If excel or OS has system updates, please google “how to change decimal and thousands separators on excel Mac/Windows”.

Windows
- Go to Excel
- Files > Options > Advanced > decimal separators and thousands separators

Mac
- Quit Excel
- Apple mark > System preference > Language & Region > Advanced
- Number separators and Currency > Grouping and Decimal *Mac OS calls thousands separator as Grouping
- Open Excel
*Obviously Mac OS only has one number separators setting for all the apps. Thus it may affect other apps like “Numbers” or “Calculator” than Excel.

Q

1247 Why doesn’t sales amount on custom report based on BQ match with SENRI’s?

A

1) Owing to sync
a)Edit/delete transactions after data is uploaded from SENRI to BigQuery
Edit quantity/price
Add/delete SKU
Add/delete whole transaction
Web users can create backdated transactions
Mobile users can create backdated transactions upon approval
Edit discount
Transactions are uploaded from mobile to web after sync
2) Owing to SENRI’s data description
Comparing approved sales and orders
SENRI applies either approved sales or orders depends on pages. i.e. https://senriltd.my.site.com/s/article/What-is-the-diffrence-between-orders-and-sales
Please make sure you compare them in the same way of calculation
Comparing total sales and primary sales
SENRI applies either total sales or primary sales only depends on pages
Comparing before and after tax
SENRI applied either before or after tax depends on pages. i.e. https://senriltd.my.site.com/s/article/Which-information-of-SENRI-is-tax-reflected-and-not-reflected
Comparing before and after rounding
SENRI applied either before or after rounding depends on pages. i.e. https://senriltd.my.site.com/s/article/What-is-the-gaps-b-w-total-sales-per-products-and-per-customers
3) Owing to relational data
If you change relational data to deals like region or primary after making order, BQ deal tables will not be updated. As a result, sales per relational data like sales per region or sales per primary customers may have differences.

1284 API for BIs support policy

A

Open API functions have a different support policies from SENRI itself or ERP API integration since it is not end users function but developers function.
We have two support options:

  1. Basic plan
    - Client needs to ensure developers workloads and skills by self
    - Basic charges per api user per month will be applied
    - API will be updated automatically when SENRI has function updates or modification
    - API call upto agreed limit per api user per day will be occupied and ensured
    - Open API document and api user credentials will be provided but any further support or support for each client environment/cases will not be provided at basics.
    - Any errors responded from SENRI server may be addressed upon requested.
  2. Full support plan
    - SENRI ensures developers workloads and skills.
    - Additional initial fee and monthly support fee will be charged on the top of basic charges.
    - It includes full set up of client’s own integration and continuous support from SENRI sides.
    - Required modification due to specification change in customers endpoint may be charged separately.

Please make sure to communicate policies appropriately and select suitable plan for clients.

Q

1292 How to count call and call limit of APIs for ERP,BI

A

*Idea of call and call limits are basically same between APIs for ERPs and BIs.

1) What is API call?
“An API call is the process of a client application submitting a request to an API and that API retrieving the requested data from the external server or program and delivering it back to the client.” by Hubspot

In case of SENRI and ERPs, request is submitted every time ERP pull data from SENRI and ERP push data to SERNI. Also API call is counted separately between different endpoints.

2) Is Transaction API only required to pull transaction data from SENRI to ERP/BI?

If ERP submit request to only transaction endpoint to pull transaction data from SENRI, it only consumes 1 call but if ERP also requests tier endpoint or region endpoint in addition to transaction endpoint to pull transaction data from SENRI, it consumes 3 calls to pull transactions.

The later case may happens if client wants to get region name or tier name as transaction data though SENRI’s transaction data only have region id and tier id. This depends on client’s need and database structures.

3) Is 1000 units only consumed if client create 1000 transactions in a day?

It depends on setup. Calls are submitted based on the setup and it will consumed even if no units are actually get from SENRI. Here is example;

To get 3 transactions from SENRI and push to ERP. Each transactions are recorded in SENRI at 8AM, 12PM and 3PM respectively.

Example 1: Client wants to get all transactions only once in a day at 4PM. This means transaction does not appear in ERPs until 4PM though it’s recorded in SENRI at 8AM.
In this case, 1 call is only consumed to get 3 transactions.

Example 2: Client wants to get transactions in almost realtime so wants to get every 1 hour from 8AM to 5PM. In this case, 10 calls is consumed to get 3 transactions because call is consumed whether transactions are get or not.

4) Does customer ensure to use 10K calls every day when 1 call can contain 100 unit at maximum and 100 calls are given to customers per day?

No. 100 units are maximum number of unit which 1 call can contain. As mentioned above, call is consumed every time requests are submitted whether request could get data like transactions or not.

1295 How should import error dealt with?

A
  • Use export file as import template
  • Remove the row with error and import again
  • Check that the date format is correct
  • Reduce number of rows / divide the file
  • For Indonesian users If the imported values use a separator, make sure the Excel language setting is Indonesian.
