What are Christian attitudes to crime?
The Bible warns Christians against having evil thoughts/ intentions. Therefore Christians would ne more willing to treat an offender who had good intentions rather than one who acted out of evil intentions.

Christians do not believe that people are evil but they do believe that people can be tempted to do wrong and break the law. Therefore because Christians are taught to love the sinner, hate. the sin’, they tend to forgive law breakers

What is a Christian attitude to the death penalty (captial punishment)?
The sanctity of life implies all human life is precious and sacred and shouldnt be taken under any circumstances - therefore many christians would tend to oppose the death penalty as it goes directly against the death penalty. - although some could argue eye for an eye
What is a Buddhist attitude to the death penalty (capital punishment)?
Buddhists believe in ahimsa - to do no harm AND the 1st moral precept - to abstain from taking life - therefore many if not all Buddhists would highly dislike the idea of the death pentalty/ capital punishment as it goes against a plethora of there core beliefs.

Simillarly to the death penatlty Ahimsa can be applied to this argument, but the 1st moral precept cannot as it states to abstain from taking life - corporal punishment only envokes physical harm to its criminals. Alongside ahimsa metta could be used as a point in this argument as corporal punishment certainly doesnt show loving-kindness
