- position yourself at victims head
- maintain an open air way

b. modified jaw thrust - give breaths
a. ration ( 30:2) - encourage compressor to
a. allow complete chest recoil
b. fast chest recoil
* 100 - 120 compressions
* depths at least 2 inches
c. SWITCH AFTER 5 cycles or 2 min
attach pads AED
- bare chest
- remove medication patches
shock is advised AED
- clear the victim
- push the shock button
- immediately start CPR
no shock advised AED
- check for pulse
- no pulse start CPR
ADULT pad placement
- patients upper right
- patients lower left side
CHILD under 8 pad placement
- sterum ( back)
- between shoulder blades
hairy chest
- shave hair
- use pads to remove hair
- 2 sets of pads
water
- remove from water
- wipe down chest
implanted pacemaker
- avoid pad over pacemaker
*move bad below pacemake
