Corny things to help you remember chapters 1-3 Flashcards
Did you hear that sodium was dating chloride?
Then water broke them up.
Molecules with an ionic bond (such as sodium chloride, salt) can be broken up by the polar molecule H2O.

A neutron walks into a restaurant and orders a couple of cokes. As she is about to leave, she asks the waiter how much she owes. The waiter replies, “For you, No Charge.”
Neutrons are the particles of an element with neither a positive nor negative charge.
Two atoms are walking down the street.
One atom says to the other, “Hey! I think I lost an electron!”
The other says, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m positive!”
When an atom loses an electron, oxidation, it gains a positive charge forming a cation.
Helium walk into a bar. The bartender throws a mug at him and orders him to leave.
Helium didn’t react.
Helium is a member of the noble gasses. These elements have 8 valence electron, so they do not form bonds (react) with other elements.
A man went to the doctor and asked him how to lose weight. After a few questions the doctor tells the man he needs to stop over eating.
The man replies, “I’m not over eating. I’m performing endocytosis!”
Endocytosis is the process by which cells ingest large or numerous materials.
