what is flashbulb memory?
A
an accurate and vivid memory - usually occurs after a traumatic event has occurred

what did brown and kulik suggest about the theory of flashbulb memory?
A
that there were two key components to it
1) an element of surprise (special mechanism hypothesis - biological factors for the creation of memories)
2) personal meaning (the event had to impact the person & have a strong emotional response based on surprise)
