Define Eustress and Distress

A

Eustress: leaves a sense of accomplishment or an achievement of goals

Distress: feeling out of control and that everything is out of control = hinders performance and overall wellbeing.

What are the four components of stress?

A

Physical – Fight/ Flight/ Freeze, release of adrenaline and cortisol

Behavioral - narrow- minded, social withdrawal, restlessness, panic

Emotional – disbelief, disconnection between event and response, anger, fear, grief

Cognitive – decreased ability to think, hard to concentrate, difficulty communicating and remembering.
