Q

What are the 4 factors contributing to an individuals self efficacy?

A

1) Performance accomplishments: remind of past successful experiences in similar experiences eg remind of past similar free kicks the player scored from
2) Vicarious experience: use of a role model who is similar to the individual (ability, age etc) and show what they can do –> more confidence to be able to do it
3) Verbal persuasion - encouragement and positive reinforcement. Enhanced by using significant others who believe they can achieve the task
4) Emotional arousal: show how to control their arousal levels by using different techniques. If they have high arousal eg high HR or psychological symptoms it can reduce self efficacy. Coach can encourage to use mental rehearsal
