weakness of the pelvic girdle
Gowers sign - stand up using their hands
arched back
pseudo hypertrophy of the calves - just fibrous tissue, not muscle
What is the diagnostic test for Duchennes muscular dystophy?
Test their CK
What are the 3 types of cerebral palsy?
hemiplegic - one sided
paraplegic - both legs only
quadraplegic - both legs and both arms
How does cerebral palsy come about?
insult to the abdomen during a precious period of time in pregnancy that results in ischeamia to the babies brain
What percentage of those with cerebral palsy develop epilepsy?
one third

What can a conductive hearing loss be due to?
middle ear effusion
glue ear
