Conditioning Emotions
Emotional responses that are associated with a specific object or situation

Learning in which behaviour is determined by consequences

Reinforcement
When a situation (i.e., reinforcer) causes a behaviour to becomes more likely
Punishment
When a situation (i.e., punishe) causes a behaviour to become less likely
Reinforcement Increases Behaviour
- Behaviour:
- Try the new cafe on 2nd avenue
- Consequence:
- The meal and service were fantastic!
- Effect:
- The behaviour is reinforced. You’ll go there again
Punishment Decreases Behaviour
- Behaviour:
- Try listening to the new radio station in town
- Consequence:
- The music is terrible!
- Effect:
- You won’t listen to that station again
