Define Niche
All of the environmental factors and interspecies relationships that influence a species.
What is the difference between a Realized Niche and Fundamental Niche?
Fundamental Niche is all the entire of set conditions that a species can use to survive, Realized Niche is the conditions it actually uses.
Define Mutualism
It is an association between organisms of two different species in which each benefits
Define Commensalism
It is an association between two organisms in which one benefits and the other derives neither benefit nor harm.
Define Parasitism
It is a relationship between the two living species in which one organism is benefitted at the expense of the other.
Define Predation
It is a biological interaction where one organism, the predator, kills and eats another organism, its prey.
Define Herbivory
What will happen if two niches overlap a lil’?
Their niches will move away from each other as the specify to partition them.
What will happen if two niches overlap nearly entirely?
One of the species will go extinct.
What are some ways a species can partition their niches?
They partition their niches by hunting a different times, living in different areas, or hunting different foods.
