What skills do you need to communicate effectively?
Ability to listen, empathize, confidence, articulate, inquisitive.
How do you ensure that the frequency of communication is acceptable?
Determine by initial client meeting. Then communication after anything the client deems to be a significant event.
What barriers to effective communication have you come across?
One of the biggest challenges is acting as intermediary between landlord and tenant where there is no direct communication between them.
Why is negotiation important?
Achieving the best outcome for your client.
What is principled negotiation?
An approach to negotiation that focuses on finding mutually beneficial solutions based on underlying principles, rather than solely on positions or demands.
What can be a barrier to negotiating effectively?
People who communicate poorly.
What would be a good way to facilitate negotiations in your role?
Meet in person. Sometimes with client present. Try to understated the core motivations of each party and where there is room for mutual benefit.
Why do you consider that discussing matters in person might be effective?
Its much harder to be unreasonable in person than it is by email. Less room for misunderstanding.
What are the alternatives to this?
Phone, zoom, email, letter.
Why can these alternatives present challenges?
They lack the gravity of meeting in person.

Don’t say anything on social media that you wouldnt say on any other public platform or forum. All the same rules apply.

How do you use visual media to communicate with clients, e.g. before & after photographs?
Excel . I try to use excel to present data, photos, floor plans, sketches, and data on values in a visually appealing and informative manner.
