a 34km walk around 35 of the city’s main commonwealth highlights
- the commonwealth dates back to the British empire. the word ‘British’ in British commonwealth was removed in 1947 when India and Pakistan gained independence from the UK
- despite its controversial nature (and horrible colonial undertones) Glasgwegians were excited nonetheless when the commonwealth games came to us in 2014.
the city was buzzing and Scotland had its biggest ever medal haul at 53 and it was the biggest selling sport event in Scottish history.
