Clots Flashcards
4 places Thrombi form
Heart - myocardial infarction, rheumatic endocarditis, arterial fibrillation, aneurysms
Arteries- atheroma, inflammation, turbulence, aneurysms
Veins- statins, immobility, vein compression
Capillaries
7 types of embolism
Thrombi Fat (secondary to trauma) Tumour Infection (endocarditis) Atheroma (fatty plaque) Amniotic fluid Foreign bodies (drug use talc)
Symptoms of shock
- body organs not receive enough blood and o2 leading to waste product build up . Low bp (110) . Tachycardia (90+) . Rr under 7 over 29 . Low urine output . Metabolic acidosis . Hypoxia . Cutaneous vasoconstriction . Anxiety agitation
What are the stages of shock
Compensated - non progressive 12-25% bv lost
Non compensated- progressive bv loss 25% over
Irreversible- failure to restore circulation
Hypovolemic shock
Not enough blood volume
Increase output of fustulae e.g burns
Cardiogenic shock
Large myocardial infarction
Acute cardiac disease
Septic shock
Systematic response
Endotoxing gram -
Extotoxins gram +
Bowel infarction or limb iaschemia
Neurogenic shock
Spinal cord trauma
Regional anisthetic
Obstructive shock
Cardiac tamponard
Tension pneumonia
Pulmonary embolism
Anaphylactic shock
Severe allergic reaction
