What Christian beliefs are there about heaven and hell?

Reasons why believing in hell shows that God isn’t really loving?
A loving God would not abandon people to hell
Eternal judgement means there are no seconds chances. “The sheep on his right and the goats on his left”
God created us to be the way we are, so it is his fault how we turn out.
Some Christians think you can only go to Heaven through believing in God (John 14:6) this suggests people go to hell for being atheists or believing in other religions.

Roman Catholics believe in Purgatory - a place to work off in before being good enough to go to Heaven.
Heaven creates hope that encourages people to live better lives.
Hell might be a metaphor for a state of mind without God, not a literal place of punishment.
