Q

a way Christians can describe god (omni word)

A

many Christians would describe god as omnipotent. they would find evidence to support this in genesis. here it describes how god created the world. this would suggest that god is all powerful as he had the power to create the world and all that is in it

21
Q

another way Christians would describe god and a problem with it

A

one way Christians would describe god would be that a creator. he is the creator of the universe and everything within it evidence to support this argument tht god can be described as a creator can be found in the bible where is states in the beginning god created the heaves and the earth (genesis 1:1)

however some athiests may state that this argument stating god as a creator is flawed as there is scientific evidence that god is not the creator and the world was in fact created by a big bang. this big bang theory is further supported by red shift which can still be seen by some scientists today

original sin is the result of adam and eve disobedience to god when they are forbidden fruit in the garden of eden

roman catholic view on evil

god did not create evil evil came into the world because of the sin of adam and eve during the fall in genesis
because of their actions all mankind is born with original sin

52
Q

strengths of the roman catholic view on evil

A

explains that evil is not the fault of god therefore god is still omnibenevolent
original sin came into the world because adam and eve had freewill

53
Q

weaknesses of rc view of evil

A

original sin is not biblical it is a teaching from a philosopher that is accepted as true by the church

if god was truly omnibenevolent and omnipotent then surely he could find a way for humans to have free will

54
Q

liberal view of evil

A

adam represents all males
eve all females
serpent represents temptation
fruit is knoldge of all sins
the sin of a and e represents how mankind chooses to commit sin
their banishment from the garden of eden shows how sinners will not be allowed with god in heaven

55
Q

strengths of the liberal view

A

explains that evil in the world is the fault of mankind and their choices and allows god to still be omnipotent and omnibenevolent
god allows mankind to make choices doesn’t want them to be slaves

56
Q

weaknesses of liberal view

A

if god was truly omnibenevolent and omnipotent then surely he could find a way for humans to have free will without having the capacity to take away the freewill of others and commit such evil actions
