Brain abscesses
Mixed resistant infections
Meningitis
Ricketsioisis in children

Chloramphinicol SEs

A

Gray baby syndrome
inadequate glucuronidation/elimination of the drug causes accumulation, interferes with mitochondrial human ribosomes.
Respiratory depression, hypoxia death

Dose dependent aplastic anemia
Hemolytic anemia in G6PDH def.

Interactions: Inhibits CYP. Increasing Warfarin and phenytoin concentrations.
