if retrocardiac space is opacified suspect collapse of lower lung/ consolidation.
retrosternal opacified suspect upper lobe collapse.

1) fissural effusion
- round like opacity is seen within lung field
2) subpulmonary effusion
fluid level between lung field and diaphragm. this elevates the diaphragm.
3) thoracic wall effusion.
seen on peripheral.
