They were an American husband and wife who worked together as famous designers

They were very famous for their moulded furniture, which they made from both plywood and plastics (polymers)

It was their own modern house, and it was built using parts they found in catalogues. Its design was inspired by the De Stijl movement, which is a bit like cubism in architecure

The LCW stands for the Lounge Chair wood. It was one of Charles and Ray Eames’ famous designs

It developed from their work with the US Navy during wartime, where they were designing leg splints made from layers of bent plywood

The way they used layers of plywood to create strong, curved shapes for leg splints helped them figure out how to make furniture with single, moulded forms in plywood, and later with plastics.
