Longer than wide, have 2 ends, all limb bones except knee cap, wrist, and ankle
Short bones
Cube shaped bones of wrist ankle, sesamoid bone
Flat bones
Flat areas of bone, stermum, ribs and skull
Irregular bones
Bones with complicated shapes, vertibrae, mandible, hip
Compact bone
Dense smooth solid outer layer
Spongey bone
Internal compact bone, contains open spaces
Ossification
The changing of cartilage to bone
Fracture
Break in bone
Osteoporosis
Bone loses density (calcium and minerals) and becomes easy to break
