Who was Philip the second and what was his goal?
The king of Macedonia. He wanted to make his kingdom strong enough to defeat the Persian empire. To achieve this goal he needed to unite great city states with his own kingdom.
Who was Demosthenes?
A lawyer and one of Athens great public speakers warning that Philip was a threat to Greek freedom. Herbst Athens and other city states to join together to fight the Macedonians.
why was Philip unable to conquer the Persian empire?
He was murdered, so the invasion of Asia fell to his son.

Alexander lead his Calvary forces against the local Persian satraps and achieved victory.

Alexandria Egypt I center a business and trade, one of the most important cities in the ancient world
Why is he called Alexander the great?
He was brave and reckless and inspired armies to march into other lands. He risked his own life and was very courageous
What is the legacy?
Legacy is what a person leaves behind when here she dies. Alexander left a legacy of spreading Greek art, ideas, language, and architecture wherever they went in southwest Asia and Northern Africa.
What is the Hellenistic era?
It refers to a time when the Greek language and Greek ideas spread to the non-Greek people of Southwest Asia
What happened to Alexander’s empire after he died?
His generals fought and broke up the empire into for kingdoms: Macedonia, Perga mom, Egypt, and the Seleucid empire
