How did geography discourage Greek unity?
The mountains and the sea is divided them from one another. As a result, early Greek communities grew up fiercely independent.
How did the Minoans become a trading civilization?

A fortified area at the top of a hill that was the main gathering place in a Greek polis

An open area below the Acropolis it was both a market and a place where people could meet and debate issues

How did citizenship make the Greeks different from other ancient peoples
The Greeks were members of a political community who treated you other is equals and had rights and responsibilities. Ancient Mesopotamia or Egypt most people were subjects with no rights, no say in government, and no choice but to obey their rulers
What is a colony?
A colony is a settlement in a new territory but stays closely linked to its homeland.
How did the founding of new colonies affect industry?
Trade led to the growth of industry. As the demand for goods grill producers had to keep pace. People in different areas began specializing in certain products.
