A pharaoh is an Egyptian king who lived with his family in a grand Palace.

Egypt believe the pharaoh was son of Re the Egyptian sun god.
What was the Egyptian religion like?
Egyptians believed in many deities, or gods and goddesses. They believe these deities controlled the forces of nature and human activities.

The main Egyptian god was the sun god Re.
Who was Hapi?
Egyptian god of the Nile river.
Who was Isis?
She was the most important Egyptian goddess who represented the loyal wife and mother. She ruled over the dad with her husband Osiris.
What was the book of the dead?
A collection of spells and prayers that Egyptians study to obtain life after death.

The farrows and a few special people.
Why did the Egyptians believe they needed to preserve the pharaohs body?
Believed the Farrow spirit needed a body to make the journey to the afterlife.

To Protect the pharaohs body.
What is the mummy?
The preserved body of a dead Farrow tightly wrapped in long strips of linen.
Who were some of Egyptian main gods and goddesses?
The main Egyptian God was Re the sun god. Osiris the god of the dead. Isis the goddess representing the loyal wife and mother. Hapi who ruled the Nile river.
Why did the Egyptians of the old kingdom build huge stone pyramids?
To protect the body of the dead Pharaoh from floods wild animals and graverobbers and hold supplies the Pharaoh might need in the spirit world including clothing furniture jewelry and food.
