Commercially.
Which sources of archival data?
Internal,
External.
What is archival research?
Data gathered from exisiting sources.
Archival research is?
Expensive,
Slow.
What is Unit of analysis?
Level of data aggregation.
When combinging archival data make sure that?
The unit of analysis corresponds.
How does the unit of analysis correspond?
The IV needs higher or the same level as DV.
Why use archival research?
Tap into industry wisdom,
Power (low likelihood of missing a real effect),
Examining effects across time,
Examining effects across countries,
Examining socially sensitive phenomena (look at what managers do rather than say).
How to validate that an archival measure is a good proxy?
Precendence,
Sound logic.

Missing observations,
Inaccurately recorded observatinos,
Fake observations.
What to do with missing observations: cross-sectional?
Means substition,
Listwise deletion.
What to do with missing observations: longitudinal data?
Intrapolate (aanvullen in missende punten).
What to do with inaccurately (extreme) recorded observations?
Trim (remove extreme observation),
Winsorize (replace with next normal value).
What are time-varying variables?
Where time influences the variable.
What are time-invariant variables?
Time does not influence the variable.
