lesson plan p. 190
Co’s might have to adapt there ‘’’ for the following reasons :
time
audiovisual aid ( alternative method or approach)
outdated
teach method nots good for students
environmental conditions ( weather may not let the instructor teach so it need to be adapted )
lessons plans
what comprise most CO level training:

PTE
presentation, discussion, demonstration and practical training evolutions comprise most CO level training
what is mandated to be documented
training
what is a act of showing how to do something
- operate tools, equip, apparatus or materials
demonstration
what reinforce skills learned during formal training
- opportunities for personnel and units from other agencies to work together
practical training evolutions
examples of simple evolutions include
- ground ladders
- search and rescue tech
- Pt. Vitals takin
- Hose line work
- Driving apparatus p. 196
Co’s should emphasize what when training
safety. 194
To begin the ‘’’’, CO’s should - ‘
- explain learning obj
- demonstrate evolution
- relate evolution to classroom
- emphasize safety requirement
learning objective
co’s should immediately stop and correct any ‘’’
performance weakness or error
Saftey infractions must always be
corrected immediately p. 196
complex training includes
- structure fires
- hazardous materials incident
- urban search and rescue
- mass casualty
all should use NIMS-ICS : 2 benefits
- helps ensure ‘’ /’’
- it acquaints participants w/ ‘’
helps ensure safety /accountability
- it acquaints participants w/ system’s operation p. 197
Most Obvious place to perform ‘’’ are at:

training evolutions
The Co should apply the following guideline when ‘’’ and establishing a desired learning objective during drills :
Give opportunity to have input / influence
do not assign too many specific task ( no stand around time , )
provide safe staging area
maintain a good instructor to student ratio
make sure students have necessary skill levels
design evolution to have a positive outcome
provide a summary of what was learned
videotape the evolution if possible
document all company level training

Practical training evolutions
The instructional/teaching method in which the instructor/educator actually performs a task or skill, usually explaining the procedure step-by-step, is called a -
Demonstration
During training evolutions, resources and logistics must be considered. Water supply quantities must be calculated based on the requirements of which of the following NFPA standards?
1142
NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, requires that all Fire Officer I candidates -
Complete instructor 1
A simple training evolution should be performed -
As though it was a real emergency
COMPANY LEVEL ‘’’’ should also provide the opportunity to develop mastery of those skills, and greet new company personal into the unit and to improve the teamwork
Company level training
Company level ‘’’ reinforce the skills learned during formal training sessions and help company personal to learn to work together..
Practical training evolutions
In order to minimize the possibility of’’’'’practical training should be conducted and accordance with federal state provisional local requirements, NFPA standards and other professional association directors
Injuries and liabilities
Regarding ‘’’’ methods, what are the four steps in preparing:
1. - KnoW clearly what is to be demonstrated and it’s learning objective
2- be proficient every step of the demonstration by practicing in advance
3- Acquire all equipment and accessories
4- Require the room or demonstration area so that all participants can see in here at the demonstration
demonstration
11 steps to ‘’’’’
1. Begin the demonstration by linking new information with the students current knowledge.
2. Explain what demonstration will show the group how to do.
3. Explain why the skill is Important
4. Demonstrate the skill once at normal speed.
5. The demonstration step-by-step explain each step slowly.
6. Repeat the demonstration again while the class member group explains each step.
7. Consider with large groups in order to allow students to see progress
8-allow students opportunity to ask questions
9-ask for a student to volunteer to demonstrate the scale while explaining the steps
10-provide the opportunity for students to allow them to supervise and correct each other
11-reassemble the group and demonstrate the skill, one more time at normal speed and or one more time slowly as the group explains the steps as a summary
Demonstrate skills
While monitoring the actual evolution, the company officer should immediately stop incorrect any performance weakness or error if it is a new skill, the sooner the corrections are made the more likely students are to recognize problems. If there is an existing skill, the student may be allowed to.’’’’’
Continue to problem solve/ self correct their performance
safety fractions must always be corrected immediately
All training evolutions and exercises should include ‘’’’ two benefits are:
It helps ensure the safety and accountability participants
It ACQUAINTS participants with the systems operation
