They have a binary understanding of sex. You can either be one or the other

A concept used to describe the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits associated with a particular sex, within a certain culture, at a given point in history

Those whose gender corresponds to their sex at birth

What it means to be male or female in society and how to fit in as your gender

Stereotypes that individuals are aware of having
What are implicit stereotypes?
Those that people are not conscious of
What does the Glass ceiling refer to?
The intangible barriers that prevent women from attaining positions of authority or leadership
What does the Glass escalator refer to?
The intangible factors that enable men to attain positions of authority or leadership
What is Education Segregation?
Specific kinds of policies and practices in education that have held women back in their education such as not being permitted into certain educational programs
What is Occupational Segregation?
Policies and practices that have seen women be disallowed or discouraged from joining different lines of work

Pauses in women’s careers that disadvantage them, such as going on maternity leave

It focuses on struggles over power and resources between groups of people
