Theory of motivation?

A
  1. Maslow hierarchical of needs - can’t achieve higher needs if not comfortable with lower ones
  2. McGregor theory X and theory Y - 2 kinds of PM, theory X = one who distrust team (micromanager) & theory Y = one who trust the team
  3. Herzbeg motivation hygiene theory - ppl can’t get motivated if their basic needs are not met, e.g. Paychecks, good relationship with workers, good working condition
  4. Expectancy theory - you need to give ppl expectation of a reward to motivate them
  5. McCleland achievement theory

5 stages of team development?

A
  1. Forming - ppl still trying to figure out their roles
  2. Storming - members form opinion of how the project should be done. This can lead to disagreement.
  3. Norming - members begin to adjust habit to others. Truss begins to form.
  4. Performing - everyone working as a team and efficient.
  5. Adjourning - team starts to deal with fact that project is closing.
