When to seek urgent care
- Age <3 months with a temp of 100.4F/38C rectal
- Age 3-6 months with a temp of 101F/38.3C rectal
- Age >6 months with a temp of 103F/39.4C rectal
Bacterial Meningitis Common Pathogens and Tx: <1 month
Common Pathogens: Strep. agalactiae (group b strep), E. coli, Listeria, Klebsiella
Tx: Ampicillin + ceftotaxime or amp + aminoglycoside (gent)

Common pathogens: Strep. pneumoniae, Neisseria meningitidis, S. agalactiae, Haemophilus influenzae, E. coli
Tx: Vanco + 3rd gen cephalosporin (ceftriaxone or cefotaxime)

Measles Symptoms
- Koplick (white spots on the inside of the cheek)
- Maculopapular rash
- Transmission is airborne
Mumps Symptoms
-Swollen and tender salivary glands
Rubella
-Fine pink rash that begins on face and quickly spreads
