3
Q

Why do we tend to make mistakes when we “rush” a
performance?

A

As we speed up we become less accurate

Q

Timing Structure
(invariant feature)

A

specific sequences of muscle activation

(Throwing a ball—Same thing just diffrenet sequences of muscle contraction)
(Order and timing is key)

Q

Relative Timing

A

relative speeds of the components in a task

while total speed of the whole movement may vary, the relative speeds of the components do not vary (invariant)

These components happen in the same order regardless of movement speed, and movement time for each component remains proportionate to the other components

Q

Comparing Movements as a Set of Ratios

A

ratio of the activity amplitudes for each of the muscle groups
remains the same!

—”Finger print” of a motor program—
—It what makes it that speciififc GMP—
